New State-of-the-Art Video technology | Macedonia Baptist Church, Albany, NY

Macedonia Baptist Church Chose Power Sound and Video of N.E. for their AV Project

This project is one that feature some of the most state-of-art technology avaible today to churches.
We thought, instead of a detailed description of this major retrofit video project, we'd just let the words from the church tell the story.
The AV crew working their magic during worship services.

When asked about the results the AV Ministry chair shared some descriptive feedback...

Exciting Process!
“Everyone loves the results! Pastor Comithier is receiving positive feedback from the congregation and other
pastors about the aesthetic quality and the performance of the video system…”

Power Sound and Video Design Specialist, Troy Jennings
with AV Ministry Chair, Dr. Jennifer G. Sneed.
"The design is really  beautiful and maintained the aesthetic and structural integrity of the  sanctuary. The entire Power Sound team was great. They rolled with our questions, changes and modifications. The bar is so high now that everyone has gotten ‘spoiled’ by video projection being part of our worship services. Now, when we don’t use video during services, we get asked, ‘Why isn’t there anything on the screens?’ It was a greatprocess— we ended up with  exactly what we needed."
- Dr. Jennifer G. Sneed, AV Ministry Chair

We are most grateful to Macedonia Baptist Church...this project was as exciting for us as it was for them. More so, perhaps, as we were able to stretch our AV legs and really dig in to some very high-tech audio technology and church video projection.

Beautiful Video Solutions for Exeter NH's Congregational Church

The Congregational Church in Exeter, New Hampshire

At this handsome congregational church in the heart of Exeter New Hampshire, the clergy and staff wanted a vehicle for display scripture and hymn lyrics for the congregation. They also wanted to be able to offer lyrics to songs onscreen. Video projection solved this beautifully. Worship software presentations these as well as religious imagery, and event information onto retractable a projection screen is highly effective for the parish. The church video projection provides education, outreach and, most importantly, worship enhancement. Equally important for this beautiful church’s sanctuary space is that the video projection system installation is tasteful and does not detract from the classic architectural features of the sanctuary.

Better Communication with Video Projection

Video Projection is becoming an integral element of the worship service. Discovered by many clergy to be an invaluable tool, video improves the way messages are communicated. Vivid displays are inviting but also beneficial, especially to those seated in more distant pews. And, enlarged text, lyrics and images assist visually challenged parishioners.

"The result is perfect!"

Your team really knew what they were doing! The installation is beautiful. We have received very positive  responses from our congregation about the wonderful   sound quality and we are excited about the extensive  capabilities of the video projection system. - Don Erdbrink, Praise Choir Director, The Congregational Church in Exeter, NH

Technically Speaking

The video projector was column mounted to design specifications for optimum projection. The mount blends seamlessly with the ornate wooden molding. The sleek lines are visually quiet to the eye. The retractable projection screen offers high performance and tough duty. It offers long lasting reliability and attractive design. Highly functional it retracts quickly and quietly with the push of a button into a casing that is colorized to match the interior environment.

Church video projection was only part of the undertaking for this New Hampshire church. They also invested in a custom audio system for the sanctuary.

In our next post we’ll talk about the audio renovation aspect of the comprehensive project. Read more about worship video projections solutions on the Power Sound of New England website.

St. Andrew the Apostle in Worcester MA; New Church Video Projection, Deeper Understanding

Supporting Multilingual Congregation with Church Video Projection
Multilingual congregations are benefitting from hymn translations of projection screens as part of church video systems from PSNE.
Dual projection screens at St. Andrew the Apostle

“We definitely love it!” said the kind staff when asked how they were enjoying the new church video system at St. Andrew the Apostle.

Church video system shown: high lumen projector, motorized projection screen and Pro Bose loudspeaker. speaker
Screen, projector & new church speaker.
The Projects – I. Audio Visual Systems: St. Andrew the Apostle in Worcester Massachusetts wanted to add video projection to the Mass. A custom Church Video Projection system was designed by Power Sound of New England.  Two motorized retractable 12-foot projections screens are the highlight! We integrated the video projector with both cameras and computers for a variety of kinds of presentations. II. A church sound system upgrade was also done as part of the AV system design and installation project.
Church Video – The primary goal for video projection: St. Andrew the Apostle was seeking a way to assist the multilingual congregation with hymn lyrics. The African Ministry at the parish has parishioners speaking Swahili, the Burundi language of Rundi, and English. Hymn translations projected from a computer onto the large format projections screens answered the call. Now the parish has expanded their use of the system for English speaking Masses as well. Ideal for displaying church news, religious imagery, photographs of events, and more; church video systems are a effective addition to extending the reach of worship.
Beyond the walls – A congregation exists far beyond the walls of the sanctuary. With live steaming for websites video projection can deliver Services and Mass anywhere, in real time.
PSNE spoke of the growing need of houses of worship to better support multilingual congregations, “We are often called upon to design custom video projection systems for churches with congregations made up of worshipers speaking many languages. Providing translations of hymn lyrics and church messages is easier than ever with video projection.”

Video cameras, projectos and projection screens intergrated into a user-friendly system for worship.
Cameras capture Altar activity to project onto screens
Cameras - We integrated the parish’s existing cameras into the new audio visual system. This offers the church the ability to use the church video system by utilizing cameras to record altar activities. This feature of video projection at churches is ideal for projecting wedding ceremonies, baptisms and other special altar services onto screens for large-format viewing. It can always be used to manage overflow attendance in spaces including community halls, the foyer or narthex, a mother’s room, or anywhere.
Churches are benefiting from video systems outside of weekend Masses or Worship Services. Used often for the presentation of films for religious education or family-friendly entertainment video projection may be controlled from different chosen locations at St. Andrew the Apostle including the loft or in the sanctuary from a windows-based laptop computer, Mac-based ipad or iphone.
Church Sound – As part of the AV installation PSNE retrofitted the church audio system. A Highlight: New Pro Bose® speakers, designed for the church environment, offer greatly improved sound quality and intelligibility.

How’s the sound in your church? How about the Sunday school, community hall, classrooms, or nursery? Perhaps your congregation and staff want and need much clearer, much more intelligible sound? We can help identify and solve the audio challenges for your church. To learn about today’s church sound solutions, visit our website to read about audio visual systems for worship.

Video Projection System; Two Phase Audio Visual Systems Renovation

Video Projection illuminates the worship experience at a Nantucket Church

In our last blog post we chronicled the church sound system design and installation Part II of the AV system renovation project at Our Lady of the Isle Parish on Nantucket Island.  The Massachusetts church video projection and church sound projects were scheduled in two phases some months apart to best accommodate the parish schedule and project budgeting.

The Project Phase 2: Church Video Projection in the sanctuary. During the AV system design, we customized system features and selected high-performance video equipment based on consultation with the pastor and church space specifications. Our goal is to tailor the AV system functionality to fit the kind of performance that a parish will need. Every church has a story. Whether through video or audio we design custom audio visual systems so the story can be told vibrantly.

The goals of the system include the ability to display the homily and religious imagery during Mass. The ability to offer more visually enriching youth masses and RCIA education is also a priority for the church video projection. Recently the parish hosted a “4-hands organ recital”. Video projection was used so concert attendees could clearly see the intricate and artful organ playing close up.

The audio visual systems: Church Video projection

How the parish is utilizing the new technology is an evolution. The video projection phase of the project was scheduled for installation well before the church sound system. The objective was for church video to play an integral role in teaching and learning the new Roman Missile. The Mass Translations were displayed on the large-format projection screen to help familiarize the congregation. Now the video is used for other presentations, the list of which continues to grow

Fr. Bouchard spoke of his trust in Power Sound of New England. He has entrusted our AV system design at more than one parish where he has served as pastor including a large-scale sound system project at Corpus Christi Parish in East Sandwich, MA. Now at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Isle he again entrusted PSNE this important sound system and video projection project.  Asked about his choice to work with PSNE for AV design and installation projects at both parishes he said:

“Always Responsive…You keep proving yourselves!”
~ Rev. Marcel Bouchard

Video Projection Systems - features churches are embracing:

Keep the focus at the altar:
• Display the new Mass Translations on projection screens
• Eliminate traditional hymnals with on-screen lyrics
• Show liturgical videos before Mass
• Offer enriching Youth Masses and RCIA Ed.
• Present visuals of choir and organist while they perform
• Show wedding ceremonies and baptisms with a close up view

Video projection can:
• Improve communication to your congregation

• Enhance Mass displaying religious imagery and the liturgy
• Offer overflow solutions
• Deepen the connection to worship by visually engaging your congregation
• Display memorial presentations during funerals and life celebrations

Church Video Projection is becoming a valued and trusted part of the worship experience. Church video systems can help deepen the connection to worship and bring engaging visual elements to religious education. A Massachusetts Church; Video Projection for Sanctuary, Chapel and Academy

Massachusetts Church Video Projection for St. Agnes in Dalton.
St. Agnes Parish in Dalton MA +
New Video Projection =
More Visual Worship

Power Sound of New England installed video projection, as a 3-part project, at St. Agnes Parish in Dalton. Like many parishes with plans for comprehensive Audio Visual system renovation, the parish decided to have PSNE propose a master plan for the AV system design that could be executed in phases that accommodated schedules and budgets. Overall, the parish wanted video projection for the sanctuary, the chapel and the Academy.
The first phase of the project was completed back in the fall and the timing was not mere coincidence.
Hymns, religious imagery and
bulletins can be prominently
displayed on two large screens.

The Project Phase I: Church Video Projection for the sanctuary. The Fr. Chris Malatesta wanted a creative and effective way to utilize video projection to help deepen the connection to worship. He especially wanted to help the congregation learn the New Mass Translation. He chose to have the AV installation completed weeks before the new Roman Missile. This allowed for his idea to help the congregation learn the New Mass Translations. Video projection was used to display them during Mass and together the congregation practiced. A visual way to earn Father knew it would provide a far more effective tool than small printed cards they could be hard to read. Another great feature of this was that everyone could lift their voices toward the altar as they spoke.
Angled large-format screens provide
beautiful views from every pew.

Other great features: Church video is used in the sanctuary for a variety of displays. Hymn lyrics, religious imagery, and the liturgy can be projected onto the large-format screens. More visually enriching Youth Masses and RCIA education also realize the benefits of the church video projection system.
Fr. Chris Malatesta was enthusiastic when we asked how the parish was enjoying the new video system in the sanctuary…

 “We love it!"
“Maintaining church aesthetics was incredibly important to us.  We had no need to worry; after installation prior to first use I actually had to point the (retracted) screens out to parishioners
who had not noticed the new equipment. They blended nicely. Very attractive.”
~ Fr. Chris Malatesta: St. Agnes Parish

In the next PSNE blog post, we will showcase the features of the new AV installation at both the chapel and the Academy of St. Agnes Parish.
