NOW THEY CAN HEAR EVERY WORD

A Maine Church Sound Renovations - Audio System Update Changes

When St. Augustine Church in  August Maine was ready to invest in a professional church audio system they called on us at Power Sound of New England.

In most ways this was a classic sound system installation and design project. We also repurposed some of the speakers from the sanctuary for use with the Hall audio system. Now both spaces have the sound quality and clarity they were seeking for the congregation

So we thought that instead of describing the new audio system, its features and benefits; we'd simply let the photos and the words of the parish priest tell the story.

"Everything is Perfect!”

We are very pleased with the new audio system in the sanctuary. It is such a pleasure to have our parishioners;  especially the older ones, comment now that they can hear every word. It’s so helpful that Power Sound was able to reuse some good equipment to help  create the clear, equal sound balance we wanted in our hall also. I’ve trusted your company at four churches now and have always had an excellent experience.
- Rev. Francis P. Morin, St. Augustine Church, Augusta, Maine

Our goal is simple: to offer the best sound you'll never see!

New audio systems and sound system upgrades for houses of worship. Each is designed to fit the size and the unique characteristics of small churches, chapels, temples, cathedrals and every space in between.

Thank you to St. Augustine Church for entrusting us with your AV needs!

New Custom Church Audio at Sacred Heart Parish, Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA

Sacred Heart Parish, Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA | Rev. John W. Gentleman, Pastor
Complete church audio design and installation
New church sound systems and system upgrades are an important investment. At PSNE we take sound seriously. The Spoken Word is too important not to. Since 1969 we have provided churches throughout New England with audio visual system consultation, pro sound systems, custom church sound system design, and sound system equipment sales & service. A church may have a beautiful worship space, a loyal congregation, and inspiring services— all hindered by poor sound quality. Your congregation deserves to hear what they’ve been missing. We provide effective turn–key pa systems, as well as comprehensive video projection, live streaming and multimedia systems. Our systems are designed specifically for ease of use by everyone, not just the tech-savvy.
“We’re very pleased with the new sound system.”
I’ve worked with Troy before at another parish and have always been very happy with Power Sound. The improvement in sound coverage and quality is significant—no more dead spots! Parishioners are hearing the Mass so much more clearly now.

Custom designs for every church
Church sound systems

Design and consultation come first. Why? Because even the best equipment will not save a poor design—but, a great design can make moderate-quality equipment shine. Is your church sound affected by older or inferior quality equipment? We can often transform an existing system by simply installing updated components.
Beautiful sound for both the spoken word and the music ministry.

We know your design needs to handle more
than oration. Sound projection for the music ministry is an important part of worship services. Our audio systems are designed especially for you, for your worship space needs, and for how you use the system. Whether amplifying a small chorus or using multichannel mixers and microphones for a full worship band, we’ll design a custom solution to ensure that sound quality for both the liturgy and the music shine.

Boston Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church

The best church sound you'll never see...

Boston Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church is a historic church in Boston Massachusetts drawing thousands of worshippers since 1921. Like all churches, they need to ensure that the Presider, Lecturers and the Choir are all heard clearly.

Better Audio Quality For Multi- Language Worship Services

We have provided customized church sound system design for Boston Temple , for both the English language  worship services and the weekly Russian and Chinese language worship services.  We met their audiovisual objectives by paying careful attention to the challenging acoustics of the Boston church’s space  typical of many houses of worship built in the early part of the century.  As we consulted and prepared the audio system design we carefully considered the individual needs of the space including architecture; multi-language sermons, the Music Ministry and other details that make their worship environment unique.

Aesthetics are important here as is the case for all church
spaces. The sound system provides more sound intelligibility than ever before, but also, the speakers harmonize visually with their environment. Colored to blend with the surface to which their installed, the professional-grade speakers look terrific, and offer clarity throughout the old handsome, (but reverberant) space.

“The worship space at the church created some unique acoustical challenges. We designed & installed an audio system completely customized to meet the needs of the architecture combined with the wants for the worship experience.”   - Troy D. Jennings, G.M. PSNE

Custom Settings and “Smart Electronics”

From a softly spoken voice to a singing voice, the smart electronics continuously self-adjust providing the appropriate volume level. Custom settings offer the correct volume and projection for varied environments including large, medium or small attendance and choral presentations. Unique settings may used for changing weather environments as well. Preset and tuned to a parish chosen settings, a simple turn of a knob changes from one setting to another. One dial = easy control.

Whether a retro fit for historic spaces like Boston Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church or sound system installations during renovation or construction at Power Sound of New England we have a senior team of tech-savvy installers who will ensure the custom system looks right, sounds glorious and performs reliably.

New Video Projection System for Faith Baptist Church in Kittery, Maine

“I will highly recommend Power Sound!”
Troy was great to work with; professional and tremendously helpful. Trust is important to me and I found Troy and all of the staff at PSNE to be completely trustworthy!
He didn’t ‘sell, sell, sell,’ he educated and advised us so we’d understand our options
for both sound and video solutions. He really bent over backwards to deliver
the best possible fit for our church.
- Pastor Justin Kauffman, First Baptist Church; Kittery, Maine

The small classic New style church was ready to offer video projection technology to the congregation. They also wanted to upgrade the church audio.

Ironically this church is less than 2 miles from our offices. We serve all of New England and out to greater Albany, as far north as the Maine-Canada border and even design and install sound and video on islands including Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. So, this makes Kittery Faith Baptist the closest church, by far, we have ever had the pleasure of providing custom sound or video projection to.

The church video system has been designed relative to the size of the sanctuary. A retractable screen (see left) is large enough for clear viewing throughout the sanctuary. A celing mounted projector is installed to offer optimal projection with minimally invasive visual characteristics. In fact, it's hard to discern it in the sanctuary photo. Their laptop offers them the flexibility to user worship software, power point presentations, dvds and other programs allowing them freedom to learn and expand how they utilize the video projection over time.

The church audio system employs some state-of-the-art technology.  Software designed to control the music mixer is programmed on an tablet (ipad) computer. This allows for total freedom for the user. Whether the music minister, staff member or clergy member; they can control the music from anywhere in the sanctuary, completely wirelessly.

This little church has scaled-to-size big tools to help bring technology to the congregation.
We are so thankful that Pastor Kauffman entrusted with this important audio visual system design project. And we are appreciative of his kind words about our work!

School Audio and Video Solutions

Holderness School - arena audio system installation from PSNE.
Holderness School; Plymouth New Hampshire – Ice Arena
At PSNE we do much more than great church sound and video projects. One of the projects we discussed on our website before its summer renovation was about a School rink audio system. We think its topical as so many schools look to us for arena, rink, cafetorium and clasroom AV installations.
Onward...

Ice Arena Audio System Renovation
Holderness School, Plymouth, NH
Holderness School Ice Arena with rink audio from PSNE.
Audio for game calling and/or music
Holderness School’s covered ice rink is home to the Holderness Bulls hockey teams. This outdoor covered rink features a new state-of-art audio system designed for the arena environment from Power Sound of New England; chosen to provide a custom sound system to synchronize with the start of the 2009-2010 hockey season. In the sound system design indoor-outdoor speakers were selected to accommodate the covered, open-air arena.

What is it? This is a straightforward ice arena sound system featuring professional JBL speakers for sound coverage that puts life into live sports action. The custom rink sound system was designed with sports in mind and features a microphone and a music input in the booth as well as an audio output controller with four sound coverage settings. A flexible arena audio system that’s easy to operate; it offers settings for speaker coverage to the rink, to the bleachers and walkways, or all.

For audio system security: The power switch is activated with a key so only authorized personnel can turn the system on or off.

A Dover NH Church has great sound

Complete Custom Audio System Renovation

At PSNE we recently launch our newly designed website.  So,to keep some of the most popular AV System Project Features available we are re-sharing them here. Last year, First Parish Church in Dover New Hampshire entrusted on PSNE for their church audio system upgrade.

The New Hampshire Church sound system was definitely due for some upgrades. Like so many churches in New England, they were enduring the crackling, fading, and "cutting out" typical of older church PA systems. Most essential, we wanted to address the needs for the liturgy but also we wanted to make the Music Ministry shine. In the past most churches, due to the challenging acoustical environment, had to choose one or the other.

One of the concerns from many church customers has been that their audio system design couldn’t adapt to the unique need for recorded or live music. Power Sound has succeeded in developing a strategy for custom audio system designs to meet the needs of both.

"150% improvement from our old sound system!"
"The clarity and quality are great. Special features include the ability for us to record services to audio disc. We can post them to our website for shut-ins and visitors to our site; and the hand-held wireless Power Sound’s "ihymnal" mp3 player allows me to create music play-lists that I can cue up during services. The technical team was also helpful with fine-tuning and tutorials of our new system. They made sure we were comfortable with its operation and multitude of features. Superb!"               ~Rev. Dr. Norman B. Bendroth

After a comprehensive audio analysis, and review of parish budget guidelines, we designed a custom audio system featuring professional-series BOSE loudspeakers, crafted specifically for the church environment. This unique system offers exceptional sound quality for both the spoken word and the music ministry. Specialty-application speakers were fabricated into light fixtures to supply sound to the loft. Unconventional, yes. Effective, absolutely.

Project Highlight - Audio recording of worship services
The audio system records worship services directly to audio disc. Ideal for web podcasts  and also for "shut-ins" and anyone who isn't able to attend Services on any given week.
