Power Sound’s New Digital Bulletin® - an exciting alternative to paper Church Bulletins

Eliminate clutter with new "Digital Signage" instead of unruly Bulletin Boards

PSNE’s church-inspired digital signage is a product designed to help churches communicate more effectively.
An exciting alternative to outdated paper Church Bulletins; Power Sound of New England, (PSNE) offers custom Digital Bulletins®. Churches want a way to reach their congregation that is more visually engaging. As part of the design of church video projection and AV installation projects a church digital signage system is an effective tool to reach out to parishioners to communicate church news, schedules, religious education schedules, and other timely information.
As we wrote about in our last post, Power Sound of New England recently completed Audio Visual System renovation project featuring our new Digital Bulletin® at St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford MA. The church video system design and AV installation project at St. Mary Parish lent itself naturally to the digital signage application.
The Project: The AV renovation project is part of a series of audio visual systems’ application the parish has undertaken to deepen the connection to the worship. Power Sound of New England has been trusted by St. Mary for the design and installation of their audio visual systems for many years. We are honred to have earned that trust.
The PSNE Digital Bulletin® is displayed on vivid LCD monitors; Digital Bulletin is perfect for narthex, community hall, Sunday school, or rectory. Vivid displays capture and keep viewers’ attention far more than old-fashioned printed bulletins.

“The new digital signage is an exciting addition for the parish. We’ll run 24 hour displays featuring bulletin articles, photos of special parish events and various parish news announcements. And, Power Sound has offered any help we need with the new system. As we grow into the technology we look forward to adding other exciting features that will benefit our parishioners."   ~ Paul Firicano, Business Manager; St. Mary Parish

Flexible format. Example of 3-zone screen.
Features & Benefits: During AV installation projects, PSNE integrates the Digital Bulletin with video projection systems or it can be a standalone product. Flexibility and ease of use is bar far the most tangible benefit of the PSNE Digital Bulletin. Information is more visual than ever. The system increases communication opportunities throughout the congregation. System features include flexible display formatting. Displays can feature News, Photos, Video, RSS feeds and more.
Church video projection featuring the Digital Bulletin offers an attractive way to replace clutter of traditional paper bulletins using vivid monitors to display religious imagery, church messages and meeting announcements; to announce upcoming classes and meetings and highlight fundraising appeals or gatherings. In the lobby, office or community hall, Digital Bulletin is also ideal for webcasts, weather, event announcements, and much more. And, they totally eliminate crowded unsightly bulletin boards. "We need to remove a plethora of unwanted notices from our lobby bulletin board, actually several times a day." said a pastor about his desire to see digital signage replace the parish bulletin board.
Programming and updating is straightforward for those with intermediate computer proficiency. PSNE offers programs to maintain the digital signage system and manage programming for churches, or for parishes desiring to manage their own updates we will train staff to mange programming in-house.
Churches have shared many ways they could put the Digital Bulletin to work to communicate in an engaging, effective, visual way. At Power Sound of New England we have customized our Digital Bulletin to meet the unique needs of our parish customers.  “We look forward to feedback from our parish customers”, said Troy Jennings, “as to how we can tailor a Digital Bulletin system to their individual needs.”

The Projects: Church Video Projection. Most importantly, the clergy and staff at the church wanted to project Mass to overflow areas including the parish hall and chapel space. Church Security: They also wanted secure way to keep the church open to the congregation with out compromising security. Church video cameras integrated into a digital video camera recording system designed by Power Sound of  New England effectively answered the call.

Thank you to Fr. Stephen and St. Mary Parish for again entrusting us with your parish’s AV needs. We are pleased to bring the newest church technology —of a PSNE Digital Bulletin
system—into your worship~ Troy D. Jennings; PSNE

Services can be seen and heard with monitors
Video Projection Features: Overflow Solution! Video recording of Masses is the focus of the video projection for the church. A camera, mounted in the choir loft records Masses and activity at the altar. The video is projected live to high-definition monitors in the chapel and narthex. The chapel, which features a glass wall of windows looking in the sanctuary space, can be used for overflow congregation or as a mother’s room for managing fidgety babies. The church video can always be relayed to the projector mounted in the parish hall and displayed on the large format projection screen. The parish hall system can also function independently for religious education, films, or other presentations.
Cameras monitor 4 areas for security

Church security: Another feature of the custom audio visual system designed by Power Sound of New England is a camera and digital video recorder that provides church video security. The system offers ways to record entrances and sensitive areas. With monitors installed in offices the parish staff can monitor any of the areas, including the sanctuary, Tabernacle, office entrance, and parking lot as needed.

I’ve worked with Troy and Julius for more than 14 years at two different parishes. Their work is always great. The video projection system they designed offers us the flexibility to project Masses in the vestibule, children’s prayer room and onto a large format screen in our parish hall. The video quality is exceptional! Planning for the future, we chose to have a camera security system added during the video project. Power Sound is the company we choose for all our parish AV needs.     ~ Paul Firicano, Business Manager; St. Mary Parish

New Sound System Installation Project – Sacred Heart Church in Waltham

Form Meets Function from Power Sound of New England

Speakers blend with the church aesthetics.
Power Sound of New England recently completed a sound system installation project at Sacred Heart Church in Waltham Massachusetts. Like all parishes, quality church sound is vital. For this Catholic Church, a PA sound system renovation was needed; in fact the church sound before the renovation was described as “virtually unintelligible”. Power Sound of New England, specializing in professional pro sound systems for worship, was chosen to consult and design and install new sound system.

The Project: The pastor, Rev. Dennis J. Wheatley needed the sound for both the spoken word and the music to be addressed in the new system design. Power Sound of New England designed a church sound system tailored to the parish’s specific needs. “The Mass features a choir so pro sound quality for singing voices is important. Their Life Teen Ministry is an integral part of the parish and its Services include a band. We integrated the musical component of the Masses into the system design. We created a church sound system to improve the clarity of music and the speaking voice”, said Power Sound of New England General Manager, Troy Jennings.

Sound Scenario Selector
Features: Pro sound equipment is an integral part of the PA sound system design. One component in particular offers an important benefit is the sound scenario selector, SSR. The pa sound system plan included the installation of remote controller has presets for small or large masses, for 16 choir microphones or the music ministry equipment amplification. The right sound –every time– for speech, song and music all in one custom church sound system. The technician, specializing in audio installation to manage church acoustics, programmed the SSR for the sound scenarios at the church, ex: large Mass, small Mass, 16 choir microphones on, full band performing, etc. The result is that both clergy and music ministry get the ideal sound settings every time. Ease of use is another feature essential to churches; the SSR is simply tuned, by a one-dial selector, to the setting desired.

Speakers - close up
Another feature of the church sound system is the installation of Bose Panaray® loudspeakers. Designed expressly for the worship space environment they project sound from multiple drivers within each speaker providing even intelligible sound throughout the worship space. From the first pew to the tenth to the last the sound is heard clearly and evenly.

“We are very pleased!
Your technicians were wonderful; they answered all of our questions. The congregation is quite receptive. Now they can all hear clearly - all the way to the last pews. A big difference from the old, unintelligible sound. The system is performing very, very well.”~ Rev. Dennis J. Wheatley, O.F.M.

Custom church sound systems are what set PSNE apart from typical AV dealers. Working with houses of worship since 1969, we understand the challenges of church acoustics and worship styles which gives us a unique advantage to designing effective sound system solutions for worship. And working to create systems with features as individual as the needs of each church means effective, reliable results for every church, every time.
