Leading the Way in Professional Audio Visual Systems Design for Churches, Schools, and Commercial applications

Power Sound of New England has been serving houses of worship and businesses the with old-fashioned customer care and new cutting edge technology since 1969. Though we specialize in church sound systems and church video projection we serves other industries as well. Our customers includes schools, arenas, stadiums as well as smaller Catholic churches and houses of worship.

Or goal is to offer a custom system for each customer's unique space, budget and performance needs. Often the design and installation is just the beginning. Our relationship with our customers lasts far beyond.

We've created the blog to talk about some of our projects and new technologies within the audio visual systems industry.

A Dover NH Church has great sound

Complete Custom Audio System Renovation

At PSNE we recently launch our newly designed website.  So,to keep some of the most popular AV System Project Features available we are re-sharing them here. Last year, First Parish Church in Dover New Hampshire entrusted on PSNE for their church audio system upgrade.

The New Hampshire Church sound system was definitely due for some upgrades. Like so many churches in New England, they were enduring the crackling, fading, and "cutting out" typical of older church PA systems. Most essential, we wanted to address the needs for the liturgy but also we wanted to make the Music Ministry shine. In the past most churches, due to the challenging acoustical environment, had to choose one or the other.

One of the concerns from many church customers has been that their audio system design couldn’t adapt to the unique need for recorded or live music. Power Sound has succeeded in developing a strategy for custom audio system designs to meet the needs of both.

"150% improvement from our old sound system!"
"The clarity and quality are great. Special features include the ability for us to record services to audio disc. We can post them to our website for shut-ins and visitors to our site; and the hand-held wireless Power Sound’s "ihymnal" mp3 player allows me to create music play-lists that I can cue up during services. The technical team was also helpful with fine-tuning and tutorials of our new system. They made sure we were comfortable with its operation and multitude of features. Superb!"               ~Rev. Dr. Norman B. Bendroth

After a comprehensive audio analysis, and review of parish budget guidelines, we designed a custom audio system featuring professional-series BOSE loudspeakers, crafted specifically for the church environment. This unique system offers exceptional sound quality for both the spoken word and the music ministry. Specialty-application speakers were fabricated into light fixtures to supply sound to the loft. Unconventional, yes. Effective, absolutely.

Project Highlight - Audio recording of worship services
The audio system records worship services directly to audio disc. Ideal for web podcasts  and also for "shut-ins" and anyone who isn't able to attend Services on any given week.

Church Security System provides peace of mind

Another Featured Project from the archives...

A NH Church's Security and Surveillance System

At PSNE we're gearing up to launch our newly designed website. And in an effort to keep available some of the AV Ststem Projects features that have been most popular, we are re-sharing the stories here. Our Lady of the Mountains in North Conway New Hampshire called on PSNE for their video security system...

Our Lady of the Mountains is a large contemporary two story building with multiple entrances. While it is increasinly common for churches to keep door locked, Fr. Don and the parish council wanted to find a way to be more accessible for parishioners wanting to visit the parish or worship at times other than scheduled Mass times. The goal they asked us to achieve was to design a church security system to allow the parish to open their church to the congregation more hours, more days. To do this they chose Power Sound for the design and installation of a custom Church Security System.

Monitor offers all-cameras view.
Power Sound's audiovisual design team felt strongly that church security could be implemented, specific to the unique features of the facility, in order to be most effective by monitoring all entrances. A benefit of this system is the multi-view monitor. It displays images of all seven camera locations. When an entrance is accessed the corresponding monitor image flashes red accompanied by an audible tone. The system offers the parish the ability to be as “open door” as they WANT, combined with the safety parishes NEED.
Never have parishioners needed their Church as much as now. Yet today, for security, most parishes require locked doors at all times. Planning for more church security is essential. Church Video Security offers ways to record sensitive areas. At OLOM, the main office has ability to record on demand, at pre-programmed times or 24/7. Optionally, sound may be recorded as needed.

“Excellent...again!”
“We’d been researching other companies for our video security system. Power Sound did such a wonderful job with our new sound system, we knew we wanted them, hands down, for the security project also. Having cameras at all entrances provides a real sense of security. The PSNE team is great. Julius really listened to our concerns and needs and responded to them. Very professional.”
~ Rev. Don Gauthier Jr.

With customized church surveillance, any space may be monitored 24/7 from the office or remotely via smartphone, tablet or ipad. Flexible security systems allow churches to monitor both interior and exterior locations as needed. Offering peace of mind and the ability to keep the church more open, more often. St. Monica Church in Barre Vermont: Complete Sound System Renovation

I would always recommend Power Sound to other parishes.
~ Rev. Leopold J. Bilodeau

St. Monica Church in Barre Vermont: Complete Sound System Renovation
Great Church Sound - Affordable Price.

St Monica Church needed better church sound system. Fr. Leo had worked with Power Sound of New England at other parishes where he’d served as pastor. We designed a custom audio system featuring new primary speakers by BOSE. We refurbished their smaller existing speakers for the loft and altar.

“Great Sound is important, but so is the bottom line. We re-cycled equipment by moving the parishes existing speakers to the Mission. Now the sound is vastly improved there also,” said PSNE chief designer and G.M., Troy Jennings.

Features
A hearing impairment system offers earpiece amplification. Discreet, yet effective; the hearing impaired parishioners needing personal amplification have a comfortable solution which is integrated into the parish’s sound system. Another feature popular with new church sound systems is audio recording. The parish may record Services directly to audio disc. This feature is ideal for playback for “shut-ins” or website posting of religious services.

“A very comprehensive system: The new speakers are performing
perfectly and the hearing impairment system offers greatly enhanced sound clarity for those who need it. I have trusted you with A/V projects at many parishes where I have served. Julius and your technical team always do a wonderful job!”
                                ~ Rev. Leopold J. Bilodeau

Though this church audio upgrade was designed and installed some time ago, it is a relevant example of of of today's common sound system renovation projects. Many calls come from churches when the sound system they have is failing and congregation members are having challenges hearing the liturgy and the music.

How's your sound?
