A Maine Church Sound Renovations - Audio System Update Changes

When St. Augustine Church in  August Maine was ready to invest in a professional church audio system they called on us at Power Sound of New England.

In most ways this was a classic sound system installation and design project. We also repurposed some of the speakers from the sanctuary for use with the Hall audio system. Now both spaces have the sound quality and clarity they were seeking for the congregation

So we thought that instead of describing the new audio system, its features and benefits; we'd simply let the photos and the words of the parish priest tell the story.

Rev. Michael Nagle, pastor for three churches of Good Shepard Parish has long-trusted Power Sound of New England for AV solutions for the parish. This island churches on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts have our custom designed church sound and video projection systems.

Beautiful Video Solutions for Exeter NH's Congregational Church

The Congregational Church in Exeter, New Hampshire

At this handsome congregational church in the heart of Exeter New Hampshire, the clergy and staff wanted a vehicle for display scripture and hymn lyrics for the congregation. They also wanted to be able to offer lyrics to songs onscreen. Video projection solved this beautifully. Worship software presentations these as well as religious imagery, and event information onto retractable a projection screen is highly effective for the parish. The church video projection provides education, outreach and, most importantly, worship enhancement. Equally important for this beautiful church’s sanctuary space is that the video projection system installation is tasteful and does not detract from the classic architectural features of the sanctuary.

Better Communication with Video Projection

Video Projection is becoming an integral element of the worship service. Discovered by many clergy to be an invaluable tool, video improves the way messages are communicated. Vivid displays are inviting but also beneficial, especially to those seated in more distant pews. And, enlarged text, lyrics and images assist visually challenged parishioners.

Technically Speaking

The video projector was column mounted to design specifications for optimum projection. The mount blends seamlessly with the ornate wooden molding. The sleek lines are visually quiet to the eye. The retractable projection screen offers high performance and tough duty. It offers long lasting reliability and attractive design. Highly functional it retracts quickly and quietly with the push of a button into a casing that is colorized to match the interior environment.

Church video projection was only part of the undertaking for this New Hampshire church. They also invested in a custom audio system for the sanctuary.

Boston Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church

Boston Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church is a historic church in Boston Massachusetts drawing thousands of worshippers since 1921. Like all churches, they need to ensure that the Presider, Lecturers and the Choir are all heard clearly.
 

Better Audio Quality For Multi- Language Worship Services

We have provided customized church sound system design for Boston Temple , for both the English language  worship services and the weekly Russian and Chinese language worship services.  We met their audiovisual objectives by paying careful attention to the challenging acoustics of the Boston church’s space  typical of many houses of worship built in the early part of the century.  As we consulted and prepared the audio system design we carefully considered the individual needs of the space including architecture; multi-language sermons, the Music Ministry and other details that make their worship environment unique.

spaces. The sound system provides more sound intelligibility than ever before, but also, the speakers harmonize visually with their environment. Custom Settings and “Smart Electronics”

From a softly spoken voice to a singing voice, the smart electronics continuously self-adjust providing the appropriate volume level. Custom settings offer the correct volume and projection for varied environments including large, medium or small attendance and choral presentations. Unique settings may used for changing weather environments as well. Preset and tuned to a parish chosen settings, a simple turn of a knob changes from one setting to another. One dial = easy control.

New Video Projection System for Faith Baptist Church in Kittery, Maine

The small classic New style church was ready to offer video projection technology to the congregation. They also wanted to upgrade the church audio.

Ironically this church is less than 2 miles from our offices. We serve all of New England and out to greater Albany, as far north as the Maine-Canada border and even design and install sound and video on islands including Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. So, this makes Kittery Faith Baptist the closest church, by far, we have ever had the pleasure of providing custom sound or video projection to.

The church video system has been designed relative to the size of the sanctuary. A retractable screen (see left) is large enough for clear viewing throughout the sanctuary. A celing mounted projector is installed to offer optimal projection with minimally invasive visual characteristics. In fact, it's hard to discern it in the sanctuary photo. Their laptop offers them the flexibility to user worship software, power point presentations, dvds and other programs allowing them freedom to learn and expand how they utilize the video projection over time.

The church audio system employs some state-of-the-art technology.  Software designed to control the music mixer is programmed on an tablet (ipad) computer. This allows for total freedom for the user. Whether the music minister, staff member or clergy member; they can control the music from anywhere in the sanctuary, completely wirelessly.

This little church has scaled-to-size big tools to help bring technology to the congregation.
We are so thankful that Pastor Kauffman entrusted with this important audio visual system design project. And we are appreciative of his kind words about our work!
