A Massachusetts Church; Video Projection for Sanctuary, Chapel and Academy

Massachusetts Church Video Projection for St. Agnes in Dalton.
St. Agnes Parish in Dalton MA +
New Video Projection =
More Visual Worship

Power Sound of New England installed video projection, as a 3-part project, at St. Agnes Parish in Dalton. Like many parishes with plans for comprehensive Audio Visual system renovation, the parish decided to have PSNE propose a master plan for the AV system design that could be executed in phases that accommodated schedules and budgets. Overall, the parish wanted video projection for the sanctuary, the chapel and the Academy.
The first phase of the project was completed back in the fall and the timing was not mere coincidence.
Hymns, religious imagery and
bulletins can be prominently
displayed on two large screens.

The Project Phase I: Church Video Projection for the sanctuary. The Fr. Chris Malatesta wanted a creative and effective way to utilize video projection to help deepen the connection to worship. He especially wanted to help the congregation learn the New Mass Translation. He chose to have the AV installation completed weeks before the new Roman Missile. This allowed for his idea to help the congregation learn the New Mass Translations. Video projection was used to display them during Mass and together the congregation practiced. A visual way to earn Father knew it would provide a far more effective tool than small printed cards they could be hard to read. Another great feature of this was that everyone could lift their voices toward the altar as they spoke.
Angled large-format screens provide
beautiful views from every pew.

Other great features: Church video is used in the sanctuary for a variety of displays. Hymn lyrics, religious imagery, and the liturgy can be projected onto the large-format screens. More visually enriching Youth Masses and RCIA education also realize the benefits of the church video projection system.
Fr. Chris Malatesta was enthusiastic when we asked how the parish was enjoying the new video system in the sanctuary…

 “We love it!"
“Maintaining church aesthetics was incredibly important to us.  We had no need to worry; after installation prior to first use I actually had to point the (retracted) screens out to parishioners
who had not noticed the new equipment. They blended nicely. Very attractive.”
~ Fr. Chris Malatesta: St. Agnes Parish

In the next PSNE blog post, we will showcase the features of the new AV installation at both the chapel and the Academy of St. Agnes Parish.
